Query and Plan Fixes
We read execution plans for the heaviest queries, rewrite inefficient SQL, fix parameter sniffing and stale statistics, and remove scans that should have been seeks.
Database Solutions
Faster Queries and More Headroom From the Same Hardware
When applications slow down and the database is the suspect, our tuning specialists find the real cause and fix it. We work on SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, tuning queries, indexes, and configuration so existing hardware handles more work.
What We Deliver
Slow databases usually suffer from one of two things: queries and settings that need targeted fixes, or design problems that need structural change. We measure before touching anything, relieve the worst pain first, and tell you honestly when the lasting fix is a design change rather than another index.
We read execution plans for the heaviest queries, rewrite inefficient SQL, fix parameter sniffing and stale statistics, and remove scans that should have been seeks.
We add covering indexes where they pay off, drop duplicate and unused ones that slow down writes, and schedule maintenance so performance does not drift back.
Memory allocation, parallelism, tempdb, I/O layout, and buffer pool sizing are set for your actual workload rather than left at the installer defaults.
Wait analysis shows whether time is lost to CPU, I/O, locking, or the network, so effort goes to the bottleneck that matters instead of to guesswork.
Our Approach
We capture wait statistics, top queries by duration and CPU, blocking chains, and resource usage to find out where the time actually goes.
We present a prioritized list of changes with the evidence behind each one, so you approve the plan before anything changes in production.
Each change is applied in a controlled way and measured, so improvements are proven and any regression for another workload is caught right away.
We record every change and why it was made, set up monitoring on the tuned workloads, and leave guidance for keeping performance steady.
Often, yes. Many slowdowns come from a small number of queries, missing indexes, or poor configuration. If the workload has genuinely outgrown the hardware, the baseline will show that too, and we will say so.
We test changes outside production where possible, apply them one at a time, and keep a rollback for each. Nothing changes without your approval.
Most engagements start with a focused project on the worst problems. You can then retain us for periodic reviews as data volumes and applications change.
